WWE legend Bully Ray, AKA Bubba Ray Dudley, believes that in the crazy world of professional wrestling, there’s a scenario where Sting walks back his legendary retirement at AEW: Revolution and comes back for one more match in WWE.

This past weekend, All Elite Wrestling gave “The Icon” Sting a great final farewell for his memorable career. The former WCW world champion was able to successfully defend his tag team titles with partner Darby Allin and end his career with a victory over one of the greatest teams of this era, the Young Bucks.

It was the type of sendoff the 64-year-old wrestling great surprisingly did not get during his time in the professional wrestling world leader known as WWE. However, despite being officially retired as an active wrestler, “Busted Open Radio” co-host Bully Ray believes it would not be surprising if Sting went back on his retirement for a unique opportunity in WWE.

Could WWE lure Sting out of retirement for a dream match with The Undertaker?

Most long-time wrestling fans hoped that a matchup of Sting vs. The Undertaker would happen once the WCW legend joined the company in 2014. Yet, it never happened despite both wrestling greats being in favor of it. Now with Paul “Triple H” Levesque running the creative side of WWE, Bully Ray believes it finally taking place, and at Wrestlemania, is not out of the question even after Sting’s recent retirement.

“If [Levesque] was to say to himself, ‘You know what, the last time Sting was here maybe we could have given him a bit of a better send-off, we could have given him that moment that he deserved and that the WWE Universe would have liked to have seen.

What if we are able to leave a better taste in people’s mouths and what if we are able to trump what AEW did and Sting’s last match is at WrestleMania in front of 80,000 people — and the money’s right — and the match is right and the situation is right. There’s always that tiny, tiny chance that the planets can align again, and that’s it.”

With both wrestling icons retired it seems like a match is highly unlikely. But like deaths in Marvel Comics, pro wrestlers often don’t stay retired forever and the business is built around the motto of “never say never.”
