As rumors of Ryan Garcia vs. Devin Haney being scrapped fly, Shakur Stevenson is looking to save the day.
Stevenson took to social media to let the boxing world know he is available. Garcia and Haney remained scheduled for April 20. The reports indicate there are concerns over the mental health of Garcia.

“Damn I reached out to Bill,” Stevenson wrote. “Didn’t get a reply but we would love to step in especially in NY. We would sell out and it’s a big fight.”
The person Stevenson is referring to is Bill Haney, trainer and father for Devin Haney.
Stevenson, a 26-year-old, is a former champion in three weight classes. As an amateur, he captured silver at the 2016 Summer Olympics.
A native of New Jersey, Stevenson won the vacant WBC lightweight title in November with a decision over Edwin De Los Santos.
Shakur Stevenson Ready To Save Dream Fight
While losing a fight the magnitude of Haney vs. Garcia would hurt, Stevenson stepping in still carries plenty of weight.
Haney is the reigning WBC super lightweight champion and a former undisputed titleholder. Like Stevenson, he is unbeaten at 31-0 in his career.

Garcia, meanwhile, held the WBC interim lightweight title in 2021. The 25-year-old is 24-1 with his lone loss coming to Gervona Davis last year.
