Devin Haney-Ryan Garcia Title Fight Scheduled For April 20

Devin Haney

According to ESPN, Devin Haney will defend his junior welterweight champion this coming April.

Haney will put his title and unbeaten professional record on the line vs. Ryan Garcia live on pay-per-view. The fight is expected for Las Vegas on April 20.

The 25-year-old Haney scored a decision victory over Regis Prograis for the WBC super lightweight belt in December, improving to 31-0. He also bested Vasiliy Lomachenko last year after claiming two consecutive decisions over George Lambosos Jr. in 2022.

Each of Haney’s fights since a 2018 win over Mason Menard have been around a title belt. His fights with Lomachenko and Prograis both aired on pay-per-view through ESPN and DAZN.

Garcia, who held the interim WBC lightweight title in 2021 after besting Luke Campbell, rebounded from his first loss to Gervonta Davis with a knockout of Oscar Duarte in December.

He has also held the WBC Silver lightweight belt, WBO-NABO and WBC-NABF titles during his career, which started in 2016.

The only pay-per-view fight to date for Garcia was the loss to Davis, which aired via Showtime and DAZN.

Haney and Garcia squared off six times in the amateur ranks, with each winning three.
