Michael Page has a very plain and simple analogy in regards to a potential “dream fight” with former UFC contender Stephen Thompson.

“You know what’s interesting,” Page told Sportsnet (thanks to MMA Junkie for the quotes). “I always tell this: a positive and a positive doesn’t always make a positive.

“Because we are such similar-styled fighters, it could potentially be a boring fight. We’re going too be faking, we’re going to know so much. We’re going to be reading so much between each other.”

Over the weekend, Page made his Octagon debut at UFC 299. While he picked up the win over Kevin Holland, the end result left much to be desired from many watching.

“I don’t actually think (Thompson) it’s going to be a great fight,” Page said. “I love that guy too much to want to kick him.

“We’re all prizefighter, so whatever happens, happens. But for right now, that’s night really a focus.”

Michael Page Not Calling Out Anyone Right Now

Page, who has won two straight and 22 of his 24 professional fights overall, doesn’t believe he needs to ask for any opponent.

“I don’t care to call anybody’s name,” he said. “I feel like I put a spotlight on myself, there will be people that are drawn to me.

Since 2019, Page has lost just one, dropping a split decision to Logan Storley. That was his first and only Bellator title fight, as it was for the interim welterweight belt.

He rebounded last March with a finish of Goiti Yamauchi to conclude his contract with Bellator.
