UFC Results

After several years away, the UFC returned to Toronto Saturday night for UFC 297. And we have all your latest UFC results right here from the epic event inside Scotiabank Arena.

Sean Strickland and Dricus du Plessis put on a war for fight fans over the middleweight title. Following five rounds of action, du Plessis was declared the winner.

Du Plessis claimed two scorecards, 48-47, with Strickland earning the other by the same numbers.

In his first title defense, Strickland gained control of the contest early before du Plessis put together a strong closing run, scoring on six takedowns through the first 20 minutes.

Wrestling, along with an advantage in leg kicks, allowed du Plessis to work the body of Strickland, who held a significant advantage in strikes landed and thrown.

The pre-fight build between Strickland and du Plessis was all over the place. It started with a brawl at UFC 296 in the crowd and carried over into this past week.

In a middleweight affair, Chris Curtis got by Marc-Andre Barriault, claiming a split decision. Two judges ruled in favor of Curtis, 30-27, while the other gave it to Barrault, 29-28.

Movsar Evloev kicked off the main card with a decision win over Arnold Allen. Evloev kept his unbeaten record intact, sweeping the scorecards by scores of 29-28.
