UFC Results: Recap Of All The Action From UFC 295

UFC Results

Welcome to the latest UFC results, as the Octagon set up shop in New York City from Madison Square Garden. UFC 295 was expected to feature a heavyweight championship match pitting Jon Jones against Stipe Miocic. Unfortunately, Jones went down with an injury and the bout was scrapped. Instead, an interim heavyweight title and a battle to crown a new light heavyweight champion took the top billing. Here are the latest UFC results.

UFC Results: Alex Pereira Does It Again

Alex Pereira became a two-division champion with a victory over Jiri Prochazka in the main event of UFC 295 Saturday night.

Pereira, a former middleweight champion, moved up to light heavyweight after losing that title back to Israel Adesanya. He wasted little time making an impact, finishing Prochazka to secure the vacant title.

The belt had been vacated by Jamahal Hill, who suffered a reputed Achilles tendon earlier this year. Prochazka also had to vacate the title once before for an injury.

UFC Results: Tom Aspinall Becomes A Champion

Not many were even sure who Tom Aspinall was when his name was added to the fight card. But they know now.

Aspinall knocked out Sergei Pavlovich to become the interim heavyweight champion in the co-main event. The stoppage came just 69 seconds into the very first round.

The 30-year-old from England earned his biggest win to date, improving to 14-3. He has gone 7-1 since joining the promotion, with the lone loss being because of a knee injury last year.

Aspinall has now won all 14 of his fights by finish with 11 knockouts.

UFC Results: Jessica Andrade Derails Mackenzie Dern

Former champion Jessica Andrade made sure her spot in the division would remain there, finishing Mackenzie Dern.

Andrade caught Dern midway through the second on her way to pounding out the victory in the women’s strawweight division. The 32-year-old snapped a three-fight losing skid with her 25th career triumph.

Benoit Saint-Denis showed why he is a rising contender, earning his fifth consecutive finish with a knockout of Matt Frevola. Saint-Denis caught Frevola in the first round with a head-kick, adding to recent wins over Thiago Moises and Ismael Bonfim to move to 13-1.

Diego Lopes kicked off the main card with a thunderous knockout of Pat Sabatini. Lopes scored a key featherweight win when he connected just 90 seconds into the action.

The 28-year-old Lopes has no won two straight, with both fights ending inside of two minutes of the first round.

UFC Results: Steve Erceg Claims Prelim Victory

The prelims for the night featured a flyweight battle that went down to the wire between Steve Erceg and Alessandro Costa. After three rounds of intense action, Erceg was declared the winner, taking all three scorecards by matching 29-28s.

Loopy Godinez earned a split decision over Tabatha Ricci in a women’s strawweight affair while Mateusz Rebecki submitted Rooosevelt Roberts in the first round with an armbar. A lightweight contest between Nazim Sadykhov and Viacheslav Borshcev was declared a majority draw.

On the early prelims, Jared Gordon stopped Mark Madsen in the first round. Gordon landed with an elbow and followed with strikes for the win.

John Castaneda topped Kang Kyung-ho, Joshua Van downed Kevin Borjas and Jamall Emmers stopped Dennis Buzukja to begin the night.
