UFC 300: Kayla Harrison To Make Debut Vs. Holly Holm

Kayla Harrison

The UFC pulled off a shocker Tuesday night, announcing the signing of Kayla Harrison.

The former Olympian and PFL champion will make her Octagon debut at UFC 300 on April 13 against Holly Holm.

UFC president Dana White confirmed the news on Twitter.

The 33-year-old Harrison captured gold at the Summer Olympics in London in 2012 and Rio de Janeiro four years later. She is 16-1 overall in her MMA career including a pair of title wins in the PFL.

In 2022, Harrison suffered her first career loss at the hands of Larissa Pacheco in the PFL Championship finals at lightweight.

Many had penciled her in for a meeting with Cris Cyborg after PFL acquired Bellator MMA. Instead, she will head to the UFC.

Holm, a former champion and multi-time boxing champion, had a no-contest with Mayra Bueno Silva after suffering a submission loss originally in her most recent fight.

She challenged Amanda Nunes for the UFC bantamweight title in 2019 and Cyborg for the featherweight belt two years before that. Also in 2017, she lost to Germaine de Randamie for the inaugural featherweight title.

In 2016, Holm lost her bantamweight belt to Miesha Tate.
