CM Punk had two MMA fights for the UFC, where he was easily defeated, and now we learned the ridiculous amount for his purse (aka salary).
CM Punk Ridiculous UFC Purse Revealed
For now, CM Punk is part of the WWE roster again. We will see if that last longer than two years.
After exiting WWE the first time, Punk focused on a career in MMA. He fought twice, with both appearances seeing him featured on the main portion of UFC pay per views.
For someone with no experience, he or she would typically open the prelims. Although, Punk was a household name and he was able to jump the line.
In 2017, then UFC President Dana White sat for a deposition about an antitrust lawsuit. Federal Judge Richard Boulware recently unseated the content.
During it, we learned how much Punk made.
“People went crazy when they saw what he got paid,” said White. “Even the women.”
Punk received a flat payout of $500,000. There was bonus for winning, which is something the UFC has done in the past.
He could have made more if he won and then defended a UFC Championship. Although, the pay per view would need to earn at least 200,000 buys.
In the end, none of that mattered as both fights were one-sided. Mickey Gall made him tap at UFC 203 in less than three minutes and Mike Jackson easily won a decision.
The Jackson fight at UFC 225 was overturned because of a positive drug test. Therefore, Punk is technically 0-1 with a no contest in the UFC.
Then, he appeared at the conclusion of WWE Survivor Series. Since then, people are still buzzing as nobody saw this coming.
So, is the CM Punk purse from UFC a little too high?
