The WWE has been a flurry of activity lately, with major and shocking returns. From Randy Orton to CM Punk, looks like yet another superstar is set for a comeback, and it’s all going down during this week’s SmackDown.
WWE Superstar Will Return During SmackDown
From the Viper to the Straight Edge Superstar, this week’s Friday Night SmackDown will be jam-packed with high-level talent. Still, a former WWE champion is also set to enter the mix.
According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, AJ Styles will return to WWE television this Friday. As per the report, Styles was supposed to come back to TV a couple of weeks ago, but this was nixed.
Looks like he’ll return, just in time for the Road to WrestleMania festivities. AJ has been out of action since the beginning of September.
He was written off storylines after an attack backstage. As a result, he removed from the Fastlane match where he was to team up with John Cena.
Alas, LA Knight was put in his place. Still, with Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa behind the storyline-related attack, there’s a good chance The Phenomenal One will be back for revenge against the Bloodline.
However, his exact storyline moving forward is currently unknown. With that being said, Roman Reigns still needs an opponent for the 2024 Royal Rumble.
Some reports reveal that Randy Orton is also being talked about for a possible championship match against Reigns at the big January event. There’s also the idea that Style’s return could also lead to a Good Brothers comeback, too.
This would certainly even out the odds for AJ if he faces a rivalry with The Bloodline. However, it’s important to note, Luke Gallows is out of action and getting his knee scoped, so this depends on his recovery.
