Combate Global returns to Paramount+ this Saturday night with Maritza Sanchez taking on Elina Kallionidou in the main event.
Set for Miami, the event begins with a pre-show at 7 p.m. ET and live fight action to follow 30 minutes later.
Sanchez is a 5-1 American female flyweight from California who has won each of her last five bouts. Last May, she finished Fernanda Marrufo in the second round.
Prior to that, Sanchez picked up a TKO victory over Ireland’s Dee Begley.
Kallionidou sports a 9-5 mark and is also 25 years old like her opponent. A native of Greece, she is a former regional MMA champion at 135 pounds.
Some of Kallionidou’s former opponents include Bec Rawlings and Jena Bishop.
Combate Global Co-Main Event Features Mauricio Rios Vs. Tony Cortez
Two unbeaten featherweights square off in the co-main event, as Mauricio Rios faces Tony Cortez.
Rios, a 25-year-old from Mexico City, Mexico, is a member of The Bonebreakers team. He made his professional debut with Combate in 2021 and has finished three of his four opponents.
Cortez, three years younger and fighting out of California, is a former six-time undefeated amateur champion. He will be competing for a third time this year after recording a 32-second knockout in August.
Other scheduled bouts for the event include Ismael Zamora taking on Erik Villasmil and Anas Azizoun fighting Adam Ortiz.
