WWE is set to return to Saudi Arabia on Saturday, November 4th as they present the Crown Jewel premium live event (PLE). Despite its grandeur, it looks like some top stars won’t be in attendance.
Big Name WWE Stars Not Going To Crown Jewel
It seems odd that there will be some major names missing from the high-profile Crown Jewel event. The company generally gears up to bring the best names forward, sometimes bringing legends or Hall of Famers out of retirement for the PLE.
Still, there’s a very good reason that some top talent won’t be in Saudi for the event this year. The lowdown on all this, is below:
The Real Reason Top WWE Names Won’t Be AT Crown Jewel
Interestingly enough, the company is running a house show in Rochester, New York on the same night as Crown Jewel. As such, some top talent won’t be at the PLE, as they’ll be at the live event.
Currently, Crown Jewel is advertising Drew McIntyre versus World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, as well as a five-way match that pits Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley, versus Shayna Baszler, Raquel Rodriguez, Zoey Stark, and Nia Jax. Meanwhile, it also looks like U.S. Champion Rey Mysterio will defend his title against Logan Paul, and Universal Champion Roman Reigns will likely face off against L.A. Knight (based on storylines unfolding on television).
Currently, Charlotte Flair, as well as Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER, NXT Women’s Champion Becky Lynch, and Women’s Champion IYO SKY are being advertised for the Rochester house show. This probably means they won’t be at Crown Jewel.
Still, both PLEs and house shows are always subject to change, so the WWE may decide to mix things up. Only time will tell.
