A recent report offers a health update on WWE Women’s Tag Titleholder, Piper Niven, who missed this week’s Monday Night RAW. But will she have to relinquish her championship? More on this story, below.
Health Update On Piper Niven
This week during the RAW after Payback, Adam Pearce provided a health update on the superstar, noting she wasn’t cleared to wrestle on the show. Her fellow Women’s Tag Team Champion partner, Chelsea Green, participated in a singles match.
Chelsea ended up facing off against Raquel Rodriquez, who beat Green quite easily. Raquel lost to Rhea Ripley at the Payback pay-per-view and proclaimed she wanted a rematch against Rhea on the next edition of RAW.
Back to the women’s tag champ, who is dealing with some sort of illness/condition. The good news is, according to Fightful Select, she’ll be back in action and on WWE TV within one or two weeks.
In addition, the report states the Women’s Tag Champ won’t have to vacate the title. This is a far better fate than what some other females that have held the title have gone through, as of late.
There even seems to be a buzz on the internet that the WWE Women’s Tag Titles could be “cursed”, as injuries have plagued championship reigns, recently. Lita, who held the title with “The Man” Becky Lynch a few months back, was replaced in a match by Trish Stratus, due to injury.
The next set of titleholders, Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez, relinquished their championships due to Morgan’s injury. Then Sonya Deville and Chelsea Green captured the tag titles, only for Deville to vacate her championship due to injury.
Rather than both superstars relinquishing the titles, Niven simply stepped into Sonya’s place, becoming Green’s new tag partner. Unfortunately, the titles haven’t been defended since Deville and Green scored them on the July 17th episode of RAW.
