Bellator 298 Results: Logan Storley Finishes Brennan Ward In Main Event

The main event of Bellator 298 left the fans packed inside the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota excited. Hometown boy Logan Storley finished Brennan Ward, securing his standing in the welterweight division.

The former interim champion is a native of Sioux Falls and is now 15-2 overall. Both of his losses have come at the hands of current titleholder, Vadim Nemkov.

Valentin Moldavsky, a former interim heavyweight champion, moved to 12-3 with a decision victory over Steve Mowry. The loss was the first in the career of Mowry, a Kill Cliff FC fight product.

Aaron Jeffery, James Gallagher and Sidney Outlaw were all main card winners. Jeffery bested Dalton Rosta, handing Rosta his first loss.

Gallagher returned with a split decision vs. James Gonzalez, while Outlaw downed Islam Mamedov via decision.

Bellator 298 Results: Newcomers With Prelim Wins

Jordan Oliver kicked off the night with a submission win in his debut, locking in an arm-triangle choke on Andrew Triolo. The former Oklahoma State wrestling standout is viewed as a future title contender by many.

Michael Blockhus, who actually wrestled Oliver while both were in college, earned a win in his MMA debut with a first round finish of Eli Mefford.

Justine Kish, Enrique Barzola and Leandro Higo were among the other prelim winners. Kish bested Diana Avsaragova, Barzola downed Jaylon Bates and Higo submitted Nikita Mikhailov.

What’s Next

Bellator will take a bit of a break before returning in September with Johnny Eblen defending his middleweight title against Fabian Edwards. That card takes place September 23 from the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland.

Aaron Pico battles Pedro Carvalho, Sinead Kavanagh faces Sara Collins and Mads Burnell meets Daniel Weichel in other main card action.
