Bellator 298: Pair Of Former Champions In Spotlight

Bellator 298

Bellator 298 will feature a pair of former interim champions in the promotion battling in the main and co-main events. The card, which airs live on Showtime, features Logan Storley vs. Brennan Ward and Valentin Moldavsky vs. Steve Mowry.

Bellator 298: Former Interim Champs Looking For Victories

Two former interim champions will be in action next week when Bellator 298 takes place. Set for August 11 from the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the main card airs live on Showtime.

In the headline fight, former interim welterweight champion Logan Storley battles veteran Brennan Ward, while ex-interim heavyweight titleholder Valentin Moldavsky takes on Steve Mowry.

The rest of the card includes James Gallagher returning to action, as he faces off against James Gonzalez in a featherweight affair. Dalton Rosta and Sidney Outlaw are also set.

Logan Storley Returns Home Searching For Respect

A native of Roslyn, South Dakota, this will mark Storley’s first fight in his home state since 2021 when he bested Dante Schiro. Since that fight, he has won the interim title with a decision over Michael Page and suffered a decision loss to Yaroslav Amosov to unify the belts.

Amosov was able to do just enough to score the decision, dealing Storley his second loss. The first defeat? Well, that also came to Amosov back in 2020 by split decision.

Between that, he has handled everyone thrown at him including Page, Neiman Gracie, E.J. Brooks and A.J. Matthews

Ward has found himself on a career resurgence after a pair of 2017 losses. Following almost five years away, he returned last year, picking up three straight finishes since – all of which have come in the second round.

In February, he stopped Sabah Homasi to improve to 17-6 overall.

Valentin Moldavsky In Desperation Mode

For Moldavsky, this could be a career-defining moment. He has not scored a win since 2021 when he captured the interim title over Timothy Johnson, losing twice with a no-contest between the defeats.

He was bested by Ryan Bader last year and fell to Linton Vassell in March, while still holding wins over Roy Nelson, Javy Ayala and Vassell on his resume.
