Even in a scripted world, talent talk trash…so are AEW stars afraid of Athena?

She seems to think so.

In fact, the former WWE Superstar (formerly known as Ember Moon), said as much on a recent discussion hosted by Fightful.

She is currently the Ring of Honor Women’s Champion…and before she worked a recent episode of AEW Collision, she addressed this question.

Are AEW Stars Afraid Of Athena?

Even back to her time in NXT and WWE, she was a hard hitting talent with one of the most lethal looking finishers out there.

Along the way, somehow or other, it seems that the ROH champ got a reputation for perhaps hitting a little too hard.

As she put it, some stars do not want to work with her out of fear.

Specifically, those unnamed talents are afraid of Athena hurting them and putting them on the injured list.

It is an interesting comment, and worth diving into.

For starters, I was a big fan of Ember Moon in NXT. Still a fan when she hit the main roster, but we all know she didn’t have the best main roster luck.

Her Eclipse, a leaping off-the-ropes Stunner, was one of the best finishers going. Maybe not the easiest to hit, but it did always look the part.

But, maybe it’s me, I never recall her having any sort of heat or reputation for being unsafe.

We all know Nia Jax had a bad reputation for botches, especially dangerous ones…but I can’t remember a similar sentiment for Athena.

Unless this is purely a reputation earned in AEW and ROH.

That said, this could also just be what it seems to be-a talking point designed to get us all talking.

And, if that is what it is, and only what it is? It worked.

If there’s more to it, then expect this to become an angle…and maybe those unnamed stars might reveal themselves soon.
