Steve Austin: Pat McAfee Can Be Huge WWE Star
Pat McAfee is former NFL punter who has dabbled in pro wrestling. In a short time, he has impressed fans with what he can produce.
And, fans are not the only ones noticing. Steve Austin thinks Pat McAfee can be huge WWE star.
On TMZ Sports, Austin went over a number of topics. He made sure to put McAfee over in a big way.
“Pat has a natural feel for the business,” said Austin. “Epic performer. Great on the stick. Athletically, that match he had with [Austin] Theory was awesome.”
Austin is referencing when McAfee defeated Theory during night two of WrestleMania 38. Right after the win, Vince McMahon booked himself against McAfee and won thanks to outside interference.
It marked the final time McMahon wrestled. After selling WWE, Vince noted that he was done competing inside the ring.
After Vince won, Austin made an appearance. He delivered a bunch of stunners to Vince, Theory and McAfee.
The stunner to McMahon was so bad that it will never be forgotten.
Before that match, McAfee’s first pro wrestling match was against Adam Cole in NXT. Despite losing, it was clear Pat McAfee can be huge WWE star.
Since then, McAfee has wrestled a few times and each contest is memorable. His last match was defeating The Miz in a few minutes at WrestleMania 39.
“I think he’s amazing,” said Austin. “He’s very entertaining. And, as a human being, I like him a whole lot.”
The 36 year old has plenty of options out there. The Pat McAfee Show is a tremendous hit and was recently acquired by ESPN.
WWE likes publicity and McAfee clearly delivers. Plus, it cannot hurt to get approval from “Stone Cold.”
So, anyone else feel Pat McAfee can be huge WWE star going forward?
