Perhaps overshadowed by the iron man match, MJF has fan issues once again. And, what is the contract status of FTR after their return?

MJF Has Fan Issues

He’s been one of the most obnoxious heels for quite a bit now, and part of that is to rub everyone the wrong way…but now MJF has fan issues, because he went a bit too far.

On Sunday’s PPV, we can see MJF grab a beverage from an adult and dump it on her son.

Most indicate the beverage was water, but I have seen at least one report that it was something else.

Regardless, MJF has fan issues from this, for good reason.

Sean Ross Sapp from Fightful has confirmed that, unlike other “fan spots”, this fan was not a plant, and the dumping of the beverage was not planned.

In Tony Khan’s post-show press conference, he effectively said MJF went rogue there. AEW wound up doing damage control with the fan and his mother during the match.

Amanda Huber spent time with them, and the wet child received complimentary merchandise.

Khan also indicated that the fan-named Titus-would be in attendance at this week’s episode of Dynamite.

While Khan was apologetic, MJF never broke character.

On one hand, I can respect his commitment to not breaking character. However, did he (or has anyone) ever needed heat so bad as to swipe a drink from a mom and pour it on their child?

Probably not.

It is one thing if a star mocks a crying kid-not great, but that’s what heels do (see: Bayley on Friday).

MJF took things to a whole new level, and that might not be a good thing.

Contract Status Of FTR After Return

Much has been said about this tag team and their looming free agency. So, what is the contract status of FTR after their return?

The tag team showed up after Sunday’s tag title bout, attacking current AEW tag champions the Gunn Club.

We’ve had rumors for a bit now that FTR have contracts expiring this year. On top of that, they’ve not been used on AEW recently.

Put that together with some comments made by Dax on his podcast, and you understand why fans were thinking FTR could indeed head back to WWE when it was time.

After all, the pair worked well in NXT, then under the guidance of Triple H. And of course, Hunter now drives the main roster creative effort…which has to be appealing to FTR.

So, does their return mean anything relative to the contracts?

According to Harwood’s comments, their initial AEW contracts end in April.

There has yet to be any report that the contract expiration date has been changed. It’s possible that they have a new deal in place, or nearly done, leading to their returns.

According to PWInsider, the feeling from some in AEW is that the team are under a long-term deal.

With that said, it’s worth noting that there has been no official word from anyone either way. Perhaps we will hear more on Dax’s latest podcast, when that gets released.
