Sting – AEW Contract Expiration Date, FTR Might Be Done

Sting AEW Contract Date

Sting has been a regular on AEW TV, but his contract expiration date is not far away. Also, FTR is on hiatus while they debate their next move.

Sting – AEW Contract Expiration Date

At 63 years old, Sting’s pro wrestling career has been legendary. He was a huge star in WCW, worked for Impact Wrestling and WWE, before joining AEW.

Since signing with AEW, Sting has been working alongside Darby Allin. He is either spotted with Darby or they are teaming together.

Even with the age, Sting has remained active and looks phenomenal. As for the future, DMagazine did a profile on Sting.

While he does not give a clear answer on the future, he noted his AEW contract is up this year. This is no word if Sting will pursue another deal to compete or look towards retirement.

Seeing how his WWE run was miserable, he likely does not return there. Plus, they might never clear him to wrestle again.

Vince McMahon was never a fan of tag team wrestling and it showed on WWE TV. A few teams were given pushes over the years, but not many.

FTR (The Revival in WWE) were not fans of how they were treated in WWE. Several times, they requested their release.

After months of asking, WWE finally caved. As a result, they signed with AEW and have worked for other promotions.

On the FTR with Dax podcast, Dax Harwood mentioned how he and Cash Wheeler are taking time off from AEW. In fact, they could be done with the promotion.

“We have asked and been granted the next few months off of television,” said Hardwood. “So we can sit back, reflect, let our bodies heal, and figure out what we are going to do for the next few years.”

“Because whatever we decide to do next, will be the absolute last thing we do, as far as wrestling. I don’t see myself, after I’m done with whatever we’re going to decide next, in five years going on the independents.”

“That’s why these next few months are the most important few months for us. By April at least, at most, we will have an answer.”

“But now, again, I have to take in my health, I have to take in my family, I have to take in my creativity. And I have to take in my personal life all into consideration, about what we’re going to do next.”

“I will not hesitate to explore other options. Whether those other options are taking a year off and doing things we love, that could be it.”

Life After Pro Wrestling

Harwood continued how the final decision will be made once Wheeler agrees as well. He also mentioned opening a wresting school and coffee shop down the line.

In NXT, FTR might be considered the greatest tag team to ever work the brand. They even won gold on the main roster, but were never treated like big stars.

FTR recently dropped all their gold, leading to speculation about a WWE return. With Vince McMahon back in power, that could sway FTR to go elsewhere.
