Way back in May. Sasha Banks and Naomi made a statement. They were not happy with their direction as Women Tag Team Champions, so they walked away.

There has been lots of finger-pointing with their decision. Obviously, WWE was upset as they had to vacate the titles and rewrite some TV.

At the same time, others understood their reasoning. They saw it as standing up to WWE for not portraying their superstars or champions correctly.

There has been interest on bringing the two back, but nothing has worked. And, it seems Banks is ready for her first non-WWE role.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer went into further details.

“She’s not going back to WWE, but you cannot always rule that out,” said Meltzer. “Maybe they’ll just say she’s more trouble than she’s worth.”

“She’s asking for so much money. Which is, of course, the attitude a month ago of, ‘oh my god how can she ask for so much money?’”

“January 4th Tokyo Dome and other dates, and Mercedes Vernado or whatever name she will go with, but as of right now – she’s done with WWE. It can change at any moment, but that’s the situation right now.”

Unless plans change, Banks will be present for Wrestle Kingdom 17 on January 4. The promotion does have a show in California early next year, which is when Banks is rumored to wrestle.

As for Naomi, there has been little talk of her returning compared to Banks. With her family part of The Bloodline, a simply apology might get her back in the good graces of WWE.

Banks is one of the cornerstones of the women’s revolution alongside Bayley, Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch.

At Deadline, New Day continued to make history. This time, they walked away as the NXT Tag Team Champions for the first time.

Now, they have held gold on the all brands. And, Kofi Kingston made even more history.

With the title win, Kingston is now a 15 time tag team champion. He surpass Booker T, who has 14 title reigns between WCW and WWE.

New Day appearing for NXT came out of nowhere. Although, we have been seeing lots of main roster superstars briefly appear for NXT.

Considering how The Usos are the RAW and SmackDown Tag Team Champions, New Day had few options. Instead of waiting until after WrestleMania, they found other gold.

It remains to be seen how long Kingston and Xavier Woods will remain in NXT. The move is only temporary, but WWE could keep them there for a few months.

Maybe, WWE is waiting util Big E is cleared to return from his broken neck. Then, New Day should be back on the main roster.
