AEW talent Saraya opens up about getting medically cleared to wrestle again. Also, Steve Austin addresses rumors of a WWE return.

Saraya On Being Medically Cleared

Saraya, best known as Paige in WWE, wrestled her first match since 2017 at Full Gear. And, she secured a win over former AEW champion, Britt Baker.

At the Full Gear post-show media scrum, Saraya was present. She noted how Tony Khan would only let her wrestle if given a 100% clean bill of health.

“I feel fantastic and the wonderful thing, I mean Tony takes care of us, like he said, ‘I’m not going to let you get back in the ring until you’re 100% ready to go,’” said Saraya. “I was like, ‘I promise you, I got this, I promise you.’ Did MRIs and X-Rays and my neck was 100% ready to go.”

“So, I didn’t realize it would be 100%, but you know we got there. The thing is with Tony too, he’s very understanding when it comes to injuries too.”

“He said, ‘I wanna take it slow coming back, I don’t want to rush back in like I did the last time.’ So, I’m really appreciative of him, and I’m happy that I got to do this in AEW too.”

“I’ve been wanting to do this for a long time. I thought it was really cool that I got to do this today.”

Saraya’s wrestling career seemed over after a neck injury. Unfortunately, she just returned to TV after a turbulent ride with Alberto Del Rio.

At only 30 years old, hopefully fans get another decade of Saraya wrestling. She worked her life to become a professional wrestler and that dream should live on.

Steve Austin is arguably the biggest star in all of wrestling. So, when he retired because of a neck injury, many were disappointed.

Luckily, Austin was able to wrestle at least one more match. He defeated Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 38 in an impromptu match.

Austin uploaded a video of him in the gym, which led to speculation of another bout.

“’People have been speculating, ‘Hey Steve, what are you doing? What are you training for? You training for an event?,’” said Austin.

“You can speculate what you want, I just looked in the mirror and realized that I looked like s—t, so I called my diet coach up. As far as bodyweight goes, probably sub 232 [lbs] the leanest I’ve been in s—t, forever.”

“Anyway that’s the bottom line, I just got tired of, I looked in the mirror and I looked like s—t. Got tired of looking like s—t, so I’m taking action to do something about it.”

Pro wrestling is like a drug as wrestlers have a hard time staying away. Honestly, Austin at WrestleMania 38 was enough for me.

He looked good and that is the memory I would like to remember. Not Austin looking okay inside the ring, even though he should be retired.
