It looks like WWE is giving Angelo Dawkins a nice push. Also, the reason for Zelina Vega replacing Elektra Lopez in Legado Del Fantasma.

The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) have both skills inside the ring and a good sense of humor. Despite not wrestling too much together lately, they have been popular with fans.

Lately, Dawkins has been working some singles matches. That was done because WWE is impressed with his work ethic and he is well liked backstage, per Fightful.

“One WWE source heavily credited Angelo Dawkins with improvements all around,” the report stated. “From his physique, to his in-ring ability, to the style that he’s worked.”

“Another WWE source said that it’s not an accident that Dawkins has been working more singles matches since this Summer.”

“For context, he’s had as many singles matches since June 20 that he had from WrestleMania 2021 to May 2022. That same source said they’d overheard higher ups speaking well of Dawkins.”

His last match on TV was against Solo Sikoa on October 3. He failed to defeat the Bloodline Member on that particular episode of RAW.

As a team, Dawkins and Ford have been successful. They have held tag team gold on RAW, SmackDown and NXT. Only The Revival (now FTR in AEW) have done the same.

While they make for a great team, a singles career for both seems likely. There had been lots of talk about Ford getting a huge push for a year now.

Dawkins has been with WWE for a long time. Before the main roster, he spent a good amount of time in developmental.

As a tag team, they last stepped inside a ring on the September 19 edition of RAW. On that card, they lost to The Brawling Brutes.

For anyone who watches NXT, Legado Del Fantasma had a great run. Also, it was clear their time in NXT was over.

So, when they debuted on SmackDown, it did not come as a shock. Although, one key member was missing.

Elektra Lopez was not present. Instead, a returning Zelina Vega took her spot.

In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer went over the change. Apparently, WWE made the switch last minute.

Originally, Lopez was told she would remain with the stable. WWE had a flight ready for Lopez, before a change of heart.

The main reason comes down to experience. Legado Del Fantasma instantly entered into a feud with Hit Row.

With each stable having one female, WWE wants them to wrestle each other. Lopez is still new and the same goes for Hits Row’s B-Fab.

Basically, WWE did not want two inexperienced wrestlers in the ring for this storyline. Vega has over a decade of experience and got the nod.

As for the future, Vega could land somewhere else. Many thought she would manage either Andrade or Aleister Black if they return to WWE.
