There is growing talk that Bret Hart could make an AEW return and work alongside FTR. Also, it seems like Kris Statlander might be changing up her gimmick.

Bret Hart – AEW Return

AEW is known to bring in a name that fans are familiar with. Typically, they pair them with someone who still wrestles on a regular basis.

When FTR debuted, they came in as faces. Quickly, they turned heel and were partnered with Tully Blanchard.

Recently, FTR fired Blanchard and there is no word on his status with AEW. Now, the AAA World Tag Team Champions might be brining in another huge name.

There has been general talk of Bret Hart returning to AEW. The upcoming Owen Hart Cup will begin in May and feature the widow of the late Owen Hart.

Therefore, people believe Bret will at least be in attendance for the historic finals. Then, FTR had an interesting exchange with The Young Bucks during yesterday’s Dynamite.

Matt Jackson mocked FTR for firing Blanchard. He added the line,“you can hire the best manager there is,” but that will not make a difference.

Bret is very well known for his catchphrase, “the best there is, the best there was, the best there ever will be.” So, AEW is teasing an appearance from the WWE Hall of Famer.

Bret Hart Is Familiar Being On AEW TV

If Bret does appear, it will mot be the first time he is featured on AEW TV. He was seen at the inaugural Double or Nothing pay per view in 2019.

On that night, Bret was there to present the winner of Chris Jericho vs “Hangman” Adam Page the the AEW World Championship. On that evening, Jericho won but Page has since claimed the gold.

As for FTR, they seemed to have turned face and are expected to feud with The Young Bucks.

At the Revolution pay per view, Kris Statlander took on Leyla Hirsch in the buy-in pre-show. In that encounter, Hirsch left the victor.

Fast forward a few days to Dynamite and it seems Statlander might be undergoing a change. “The Galaxy’s Greatest Alien” was featured in a backstage clip that left people speculating.

In the clip, there are fans chanting ‘Statlander’ several times. Then, Statlander removes her color contacts and starts taking off the makeup.

So, we will have to see how AEW follows up. Statlander returned to action in March 2021 following knee surgery.

Nowadays, she is part of The Best Friends stable. While the stable is fun to watch, they have struggled in 2022 to secure wins.
