As reported earlier, the WWE had plans to bring Hall of Famer Kurt Angle back to television of a short program, leading up to WM 38. Unfortunately, this all changed at the last minute. A new report reveals the role Angle would have played.
Original Plans For Kurt Angle Return
Kurt Angle was brought to the 2022 Royal Rumble to film content for documentaries and meet with WWE officials about a short stint. When he arrived in St. Louis, he still did film content, but his return was nixed.

Apparently, the company was going to sign Angle to a three-week program. He was also going to have a role in WrestleMania 38.
As per a Fightful Select report, Angle was to be placed in the current program between RAW Tag Champions Otis and Chad Gable versus RKBro. Sadly, that will not happen, after all.
Original Ideas & Plans For Kurt Angle
Ideas were presented that centered around the Academic Challenge being the “Three I’s Challenge”. A playoff of Kurt’s old gimmick where he lived by three I’s, intensity, integrity, and intelligence.
Some were also thinking about using the Hall of Famer as a special guest ref for February’s Elimination Chamber in Saudi Arabia. While the match hasn’t been announced, it would be between Alpha Academy, Randy Orton, and Riddle.
As RKBro won the Academic Challenge and is having an “RK-Broga Party” this RAW to celebrate it, there’s a good chance the bout is booked then. Something will likely go awry during the celebration.
There’s no concrete reason as to why the company scrapped Kurt Angle’s brief return. WNZ will continue to update fans on this story, as more information comes in.
Over to the land of AEW, Dynamite fans witnessed two major debuts this week with top NPJW star Jay White and former WWEer, Keith Lee. Some backstage news is below.
Keith Lee & Jay White AEW Debut
According to a post-Dynamite tweet by Tony Khan, bringing in Jay White was organized this past Sunday. Mere days before the show aired.

As per Khan’s post, he brought Jay in as he felt he “botched” his definition of the “Forbidden Door” when he was first hyping this show. You can see the tweet below.
I didn’t secure @JayWhiteNZ until Sunday. I realized after the fact that Friday night I butchered my own definition of Forbidden Door in hyping tonight. I heard the fans’ feedback, & wanted to ensure that tonight was a special #AEWDynamite for all. Thank you everyone who watched!
