Massive Title Change At NXT 2.0’s New Year’s Evil

NXT

NXT 2.0 is ringing in the new year with New Years Evil, a massive “premium live event” (maybe?) that features several huge title matches.

The first match of the evening was the title unification match between Cruiserweight Champion Roderick Strong and NXT North American Champion Carmelo Hayes. The (commercial-free) main event for the NXT title as Bronn Brekker battled Tomasso Ciampa

Here are the highlights and the results of Carmelo Hayes vs. Roderick Strong

What a crazy start

A Roderick Strong match means fast, hard-hitting action.

An absolutely insane top-rope maneuver!

Twitter went wild for the match!

Congrats to the winner, Carmelo Hayes!

Hayes is definitely a guy they’re investing in. He has the moves and the personality to be a big star if he can avoid WWE’s dispassionate “budget cut” process. I wonder if he will defend both of the titles? I think the Cruiserweight title is, unfortunately, going away and the North American Title will carry the lineage of both.

But the main event had all the buzz, as Bron Brekker got his second shot at Tomasso Ciampa’s NXT title.

Ciampa got a new DLC of moves

Amazing show. An amazing main event. But as people say, RIP To the Black & Gold Brand
