WWE Survivor Series was back and the 35th installment came from Brooklyn. So, enough gab and let us get to the report card from the pay per view.
WWE Survivor Series 2021 Report Card: Grades Are In From Brooklyn
The Rock’s 25th Anniversary 25-Man Dual Branded Battle Royal
To honor The Rock debuting 25 years ago, he got his own Battle Royal. With so much about The Rock, including the Vince McMahon segment, I still think he might work WrestleMania 38.
Basically, the match was for anyone that needed a spot on the card. Omas earned the most eliminations, but nobody was a star.
Omos left the victor, but it should have gone to a newcomer with potential. Maybe, Mansoor should have got the nod. Grade: C

Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura vs United States Champion Damian Priest
I actually figured with only a few matches, WWE would add another match for the pre-show. Although, they opted to bump Shinsuke Nakamura vs Damian Priest.
Unless I am wrong, this marked the first time these two ever met inside a wrestling ring. It was good match, with no moment in the ring stealing the attention.
Then, Damien Priest seemed to turn heel after drilling Nakamura with the guitar. Was not a fan of the ending, but if Priest is heel, that is an even bigger story. Grade: B-

Team RAW (Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, Kevin Owens, Austin Theory & Bobby Lashley) vs Team SmackDown (Drew McIntyre, Xavier Woods, Jeff Hardy, Happy Corbin & Sheamus)
To begin, Kevin Owens just walking out on his team only increases speculation he is headed to AEW. Drew McIntyre and Bobby Lashley, the biggest stars from each team, getting counted out did not work for me.
Usually, these are great matches that can go close to an hour. Overall, the match was okay but not what you expect with such high-profile names.
I could see Seth Rollins make it to the end, but I figured WWE would have eliminated Jeff Hardy early considering his weak booking. Grade: B

Team RAW (Bianca Belair, Rhea Ripley, Liv Morgan, Carmella & Zelina Vega) vs Team SmackDown (Sasha Banks, Shotzi, Shayna Baszler, Natalya & Toni Storm)
This year’s Women’s Survivor Series Match saw a mix of new and older names. Honestly, there were not many superstars to decide from since all the WWE releases.
It was great to see Toni Storm be featured so well and the same could be said for Liv Morgan. Also, Shotzi played a great heel against her own team.
Bianca Belair had to battle four people on her own towards the end. Of course, SmackDown crumbled and Belair was the sole survivor.
Grade: B

RAW Tag Team Champions RK-Bro vs SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos
Great tag match on paper. RAW’s RK-Bro have been nearly unstoppable and SmackDown’s The Usos are arguable the best tag team currently in WWE.
Typically, Randy Orton is part of an elimination match where he shines. Although, he was great during the tag team match for the Brooklyn crowd.
A perfectly timed RKO by Orton secured the win as he made history. He has now wrestled in more WWE PPV matches than anyone and landed an amazing RKO to break the record. Grade: B+

Universal Champion Roman Reigns vs WWE Champion Big E
Heading into the main event, RAW was easily ahead of SmackDown. So, that was a big surprise because usually it is tied at this point.
Big E had been riding high since finally winning the WWE Championship, but he was taking on Roman Reigns. Nobody has pinned or submitted Reigns this decade.
Therefore, Reigns was the easy favorite to leave the victor. Nice slugfest with Reigns likely to berate SmackDown for their lackluster performance. Grade: B+

SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair vs RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch
Either the animosity between these is off the charts or they have worked everyone. Heading into the show, this was the match to watch because of all that has transpired.
There was a good combination of brawling, with a few tidbits of wrestling to make for a perfect addition. To little shock, the Brooklyn fans loved Becky Lynch and despised Charlotte Flair.
Becky won, by grabbing the bottom rope for leverage, so that is how WWE booked the finish. Easy candidate for match of the night, so the rest of the superstars had some work to do. Grade: A-
