Following the most recent Takeover, we have an update on who the top NXT Superstars are moving forward. Plus, where is Kofi Kingston?
Update On Top NXT Superstars
The brand might be going through some changes…so here’s an update on who the top NXT Superstars are moving forward.
NXT lost Karrion Kross to the main roster. Adam Cole is a free agent, and likely headed for either the main roster or AEW.
For those of you paying attention, that leaves a bit of a void at the top of the roster.
Specifically, it makes one ask…who are the top heel NXT Superstars?

Or, better still, who will be the absolute top heel?
Per PWInsider, the expectation is for Johnny Gargano to slide into the role of top heel.
Gargano has been a top NXT Superstar for some time now, so leaning on him isn’t truly shocking.
Then again, given the apparent edict to make NXT get younger and more developmental…how long would WWE lean on top guys like Gargano and Samoa Joe?
In addition to Gargano, it is expected that both Pete Dunne and Roderick Strong will be seen as top heel NXT Superstars moving forward.
NXT notes going forward per PWInsider:
– Kay Lee Ray will be in NXT full time. She will be residing in the United States now.
– Johnny Gargano, Pete Dunne, and Roderick Strong will be the top heels.

While not mentioned, there are other Superstars that could step up or be called upon.
For instance, WALTER is someone who would be an excellent top NXT Superstar…but he may not want to be in the United States full time.
Plus there are factions like Legado del Fantasma (or even Hit Row) who could become top heels, in the same vein as Undisputed Era.
Of course, with a new emphasis coming on younger and more unknown talent…in a few months that top heel Superstar could be someone we’ve yet to meet.
Where Is Kofi Kingston
If you watched SummerSlam or RAW…you saw some of New Day….but where is Kofi Kingston?
Xavier Woods appeared on both Saturday and Monday without Kofi Kingston.
So, where is Kofi Kingston?

Per PWInsider and other sources, Kofi Kingston is not physically cleared to perform.
There was no further information provided at this point, so we don’t know when Kingston will be back, or how long he would be out.
The report goes on to indicate that while Kingston is not cleared, he was not even at the weekend events.
Kofi Kingston hasn’t been cleared and wasn’t at Summerslam, Sunday’s live event or Raw. He was scheduled, but didn’t appear.

Hopefully his absence is not a long one, and whatever is ailing him is nothing serious in the long run.
