WrestleMania Backlash had its fair share of action. Apparently, it has also left two superstars on the injured list. The Miz and Braun Strowman are currently injured.
The Miz & Braun Strowman Injured
WrestleMania Backlash was a solid pay-per-view (PPV). Most of the matches were decent, but there’s some fallout from the event.
17 years. No days off. No injuries. The Miz is truly a trooper but unfortunately he suffered a torn ACL and is gonna be out for 9 months. Whether you love him or hate him you gotta respect him. Wishing you a speedy recovery Miz pic.twitter.com/H8gJNOyFIJ

First off, the Miz lost his match to Damian Priest. As if the zombies and loss weren’t enough, he suffered an injury, as well.
Fans know he wasn’t really taken out by zombies. However, this could be the storyline “excuse” to keep him off storylines for a bit.
Dave Meltzer from Wrestling Observer Radio chimed in on The Miz and Backlash. He noted that he tore his ACL during his match.
With that said, the severity of the tear is not known. The last Meltzer heard it could be a partial tear.
If this is the case, this wouldn’t be too serious. But if it’s a full tear, he may need surgery.
This would mean about seven to nine months off. While Dave did note that The Miz could come back from this, at the age of 40, this isn’t good news for him or his fans.
Braun Strowman’s Rib Injured
Meanwhile, Braun Strowman may have a rib injury to deal with, as well. He battled Drew McIntyre and Bobby Lashley in a Triple Threat Match for the WWE Championship.
Lashley retained the title, and Braun might have walked away with an injured rib. He was not at Monday Night RAW.
MVP noted that the reason for Strowman’s absence was that he had broken ribs. It’s unclear if this is a legit injury or storyline related.
Moving to Angel Garza news! He may not be injured, but there is some confusion around his current angle.
Confusion Over Angel Garza
When it comes to the ThunderDome, WWE tells fans when to cheer and boo. While they can’t be heard, their faces help tell a story.
This “story” from fan reaction seems confusing when it comes to Angel Garza. Bryan Alvarez chatted about this during his recent Wrestling Observer Radio.
Alvarez stated that during Garza’s antics last night, fans were told to cheer. But isn’t he a heel?
This is certainly the confusing part. Face announcer Byron Saxton was disgusted by Garza and Corey Graves (heel announcer) applauded the move.
Waiting For July To Come
So, is Garza a heel or face? The lines seem clear, so maybe those instructing the fans got confused.
The good news is that the ThunderDome won’t dictate who to cheer or boo for much longer. Word has it that the WWE is set to open events to live fans again.
When this happens, the organic reaction from the WWE Universe will take over again. No one will be able to control what the fans feel.
Live crowds were erased from WWE programming when the COVID-19 pandemic hit in March 2020. With restrictions lifting in the U.S.A and other parts of the world, fans will once again truly be a part of things.
