This week’s SmackDown in a Nutshell brings us a fun new question: who wants to swing on Friday night?

If you were somehow unable to guess…this would be a nod to the hopeful Universal Champion challenger, Cesaro.

So, who wants to swing on Friday night? It’s a safe bet that Roman Reigns, the aforementioned Universal Champion, has no desire to swing on Friday night.

But, will the Tribal Chief get what he wants?

That remains to be seen.

All planning is pointing to the impending WrestleMania Backlash PPV, which is another week closer. So that means maybe, just maybe, we start getting some matches made.

And all of that, while main event hopeful Cesaro still wonders…who wants to swing on Friday night?

Will we get those answers this week? It is time for…

SmackDown In A Nutshell: Who Wants To Swing On Friday Night

Let’s crack open this Nutshell and find out!

Best Match of the night:

The opening tag match, and it really wasn’t close.

For one thing, the match was really good. Another reason…the rest of the night was light on matches, especially good ones.

Worst match of the night:

The women deserve better. Better matches, better time, better representation.

So yes…this one gets Nia and Tamina an award. Trust me, this one they wouldn’t want.

Wasn’t good, but it wasn’t long, so I guess that’s the silver lining?

Star of the Night

Cesaro? Daniel Bryan?

Roman Reigns and his entourage?

I’d say…sure. Any of them.

Spot of the Night:

Can we just say how insanely…lame…that “Nigerian Nail” is?

It’s Commander Azeez’ big finisher. Someone in WCW used a spike which looked similar…and just as lame.

If WWE execs want the former Daba Kato/Babatunde to get over…maybe, just maybe, get him a more devastating move set.

Jobber of the Night:

Kinda feels like Tamina, if only by default because it was a short match and she was on the losing end.

Seems fair, no?

Upset of the Night:

Nothing of note.

Holy Sh** Moment of the Night:

We heard Aleister Black was (finally) getting ready to return. Rather than surprise us, WWE is giving us ominous vignettes.

The first was debuted tonight…and he’s going for the dark and bizarre and borderline creepy. Should be interesting.

LOL Moment of the night:

Seriously…that Nigerian Nail makes me laugh.

Noteworthy Moment:

Aleister Black is on his way back, even after his better half got axed.

Cesaro is soooo close to a title shot. Even Daniel Bryan was lobbying for him.

However…next week, Daniel Bryan gets another shot at Roman Reigns. However, if Bryan loses.

Considering the news that Daniel Bryan’s contract is coming to an end, and he did just say he wanted to wrestle with other companies…could next week be a farewell?

Also, one has to think we will see something else out of Seth Rollins bailing on Jey Uso. Not sure where that goes, but it’s worth watching.

Overall lowlights:

It wasn’t a bad SmackDown, but it was light on wrestling for my taste.

Also really wish we could get more out of the Women’s Division.

Overall highlights:

I am happy that Cesaro is finally at least sniffing the main event.

Whether he gets a shot at the upcoming WrestleMania Backlash, or some time after…he deserves it, he’s earned it, and I think getting the title on him would be a good thing.

After the final bell:

Well, next week we have two big matches.

Big E gets a rematch against Apollo. I have to think this ends up leading us to a WrestleMania Backlash match.

Bigger though, we get Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns. If Daniel wins, well, he’s the Universal Champion.

If Reigns wins, Daniel Bryan is gone. It’s easily a very big main event.

So, all in all, light on wrestling but still an eventful SmackDown in a Nutshell.

And hey, we even found out who wants to swing on Friday night…Cesaro is always willing, but he’s going to have to wait.
