The coronavirus truly has the WWE in its grips. Now that WrestleMania has been moved to the Performance Center, WWE stars are screened medically for COVID before entering. On top of that, there are further concerns about this year’s WrestleMania event.

WWE Talent Screened For COVID-19

Wrestlemania is expected to be held at the Performance Center in Orlando

WWE superstars are having a medical screening before they can attend the current TV tapings. The exact nature of these medical screenings is currently unknown.

The medical screenings appear like an over-the-top measure, it is most certainly the best thing for WWE superstars and the production staff. The coronavirus is extremely contagious and can remain on someone for a considerable amount of time. The health checks are therefore more than necessary. They ensure an infected member of staff does not pass it on to others. Otherwise, Wrestlemania could truly be cancelled.

Despite the medical screening, not all wrestlers are comfortable wrestling during the coronavirus crisis. One wrestler who revealed this in a recent interview is none other than Lio Rush. Rush says he is not comfortable wrestling at events. Despite the special measures put into place. He even commented on the fact that it was business as usual.

WrestleMania Doubts Continue

Wrestlemania will take place at the performance center

Various events are currently cancelled around the world. So, it is normal that fans are concerned about WrestleMania going ahead. Even though it will now take place in the performance center with a limited amount of staff, it does not mean that there aren’t any problems.

Many are speculating that the powers that be in Orlando could step in before WrestleMania even takes place. Even without a live audience, the production of WrestleMania requires a large amount of people nonetheless. Orlando may have serious concerns about the event going ahead.

Vince McMahon’s real power will be revealed in the weeks to come. If he can go ahead with the event, it shows just how much power he holds in the United States. A lot of events are cancelled, even events that can be held without a live audience.

“I was told that he [Vince McMahon] could not confidently say at any time that they could do this and it was kinda like to me like ‘What if there’s no shows until November? What do you do?’ He wanted to get this out of the way so it’s going to be a totally different WrestleMania.” – Dave Meltzer

At the end of the day, it all comes down to the amount of staff. Wrestlemania requires lots of staff. When you add cameramen, the production team and the wrestlers, it is still a serious number of people. So, is Wrestlemania manageable?

Insecurity Going Ahead

Since there is so much insecurity at the moment, we have no choice but to wait and see what happens. WrestleMania is no longer a choice by the WWE. It is a matter of the local government allowing the event to go ahead. Let’s wait and see what happens. Let’s hope there is a WrestleMania to watch this year.
