15 Best And Worst WWE Matches Out Of Saudi Arabia

WWE is already in Saudi Arabia, preparing for Crown Jewel on Halloween. The entire deal between WWE and the Saudi Arabian Government has created issues, but money speaks louder. Since WWE is moving forward with the event, here’s a look back at the best and worst matches as par of the deal.

Greatest Royal Rumble: Jeff Hardy defeated Jinder Mahal to remain WWE United States Champion (Worst)

While there are plenty of matches that stunk, Jinder Mahal and Jeff Hardy took it to another level with one spot. Hardy completely missed the whisper in the wind, but that did not stop Mahal from selling the move.

Greatest Royal Rumble: Braun Strowman won the 50 man Royal Rumble Match (Best)

The Greatest Royal Rumble Match was never designed to be something high-caliber. Mostly, we got surprise names for a few minutes before moving onto the next superstar over the course of 50 entrants.

Greatest Royal Rumble: AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura ended in a double count out for the WWE Championship (Worst)

There were high hopes for the AJ Styles – Shinsuke Nakamura feud and they rarely delivered. The problem this time around, the lame double count out in a WWE Championship match.

Greatest Royal Rumble: The Undertaker defeated Rusev Casket Match (Best)

The Casket Match is something synonymous with Undertaker and his 25 plus year run in WWE. Rusev was the right challenger as it allowed Undertaker to get a fresh and much needed win.

Greatest Royal Rumble: Brock Lesnar defeated Roman Reigns by escaping the cage Steel Cage to remain WWE Universal Championship (Worst)

There was lots of shock when Brock Lesnar kept the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 33. We figured the title would trade hands at the Greatest Royal Rumble, only for a lame spot to keep the title in its place.

Greatest Royal Rumble: Seth Rollins defeated The Miz, Finn Bálor, and Samoa Joe Ladder in a Ladder Match to remain Intercontinental Champion (Best)

Toss in some of the more talented wrestlers on the roster into the same ring with a ladder and be prepared for entertainment. WWE really could not have screwed this one up.

Greatest Royal Rumble: John Cena defeated Triple H (Best)

We have seen John Cena and Triple H battle so many times, but them opening up the card set the tone for the next decade. Two of the most known stars in pro wrestling were able to begin the Saudi Arabia deal on a high note.

Greatest Royal Rumble: Cedric Alexander defeated Kalisto to remain Cruiserweight Championship (Best)

The future of 205 Live is in doubt, but you have to give the brand credit. No matter where they are placed, those wrestlers always tried to steal the show.

Crown Jewel: Shane McMahon defeated Dolph Ziggler in the WWE World Cup Finals (Worst)

The entire single night tournament was an embarrassment, especially the finals. The Miz fakes an injury so Shane McMahon can walk around with a big golden trophy.

Crown Jewel: D-Generation X (Triple H & Shawn Michaels) defeated The Brothers of Destruction (The Undertaker & Kane) (Worst)

15 years ago, this would have been a dream match worthy of headlining any pay per view. Instead, fans got four superstars who could have already been retired.

Crown Jewel: Dolph Ziggler defeated Seth Rollins in a WWE World Cup Semifinal match (Best)

The only positive to come of the Crown Jewel tournament was a single match. It was nothing too special, but the bout topped the rest of the junk that evening.

Super ShowDown: The Undertaker defeated Goldberg (Worst)

When we talk about the worst match of 2019, Undertaker vs. Goldberg is an early contender. We can, maybe, point the finger of blame on Goldberg suffering an early concussion.

Super ShowDown: Randy Orton defeated Triple H (Best)

In a case of student vs. teacher, Randy Orton and Triple H did what they know best: how to wrestle. I would expect nothing less than a decent match from these future WWE Hall of Famers.

Super ShowDown: Mansoor won a 51 Man Battle Royal (Worst)

The entire battle royal was a joke as the ring could barely hold 51 people. The only purpose was to promote Mansoor on WWE TV in front of his home country.

Super ShowDown: “The Demon” Finn Bálor defeated Andrade (Best)

While not the best performance between Finn Balor and Andrade, they made the match work. Balor summing “The Demon” typically helps the overall feeling to a match.
