Jim Ross’ Bold Ronda Rousey Statement, SmackDown Star Injured

Jim Ross' Bold Ronda Rousey Statement

‘- While nothing is official, the plan remains for female superstars to headline WrestleMania for the first time. We already know Becky Lynch will challenge RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey with talk of Charlotte Flair being inserted to make the main event a triple threat. WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross appeared on Sirius XM’s Busted Open Radio to discuss the star power of Rousey and rumors that she is departing at or shortly after WrestleMania 35.

“I think Rousey’s there to help these other girls get over and get established because we know that Rousey’s not gonna be around forever and I don’t have a problem with that,” said Ross. “If Ronda Rousey’s not on the roster – and you can quote me on this damn statement – if Ronda Rousey’s not on the roster, there’s not a chance in hell a female headlines WrestleMania and closes the show.”

While Rousey was making waves in the UFC, WWE had their Women’s Revolution with Charlotte, Becky, Bayley and Sasha Banks being the star attractions. Since coming to WWE, Rousey has helped WWE obtain more mainstream attention and she continues to improve in the ring.

While is uncertain, many do believe that Rousey will be taking time off in a few months to start a family. There has been no word if she plans on returning to WWE, but she seems happy there and it is doubtful the company wants to lose a major star. Ross even agreed during the interview that Rousey deserves a break after WrestleMania 35.

Over the past few months, Ali was moved to SmackDown where he has worked with top stars Daniel Bryan, Samoa Joe and Randy Orton. There seem to be big plans for the once almost unknown 205 Live superstar.
