‘- The WWE Universe has been shocked to their very core today, with news that Dean Ambrose has rejected a contract renewal with the company and is expected to leave the WWE after Wrestlemania 35.
Now, some interesting information has emerged around Dean Ambrose’s role at this year’s Royal Rumble.
Wrestle Votes, a handle on Twitter that has broken some pretty big WWE stories in the past, sent out a tweet on the Saturday before the Rumble, stating that fans needed to brace themselves for a shocker come Sunday. See tweet below:
A “big” surprise may be in the plans Sunday at the Rumble, one that’s being kept from nearly everyone. However, I’m not going to leak it. Two reasons, 1. If it happens, everyone should have a genuine reaction to the moment & 2. WWE doesn’t even know if it’s going to work out yet.

Today, they updated fans with the below tweet, implying the “big” Rumble story they referred to on January 26th involved The Lunatic Fringe. With Ambrose set to leave the company after WM 35, and informing WWE Officials this past weekend, something may have been in the works at the Rumble with Ambrose, only for it all to get scrapped.

But, will they be the only two women in the match?
According to The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer, as of right now, the Wrestlemania 35 bout is being planned as a triple threat, which would include none other than Charlotte Flair. In fact, a storyline has been woven to bring Flair into the feud at some point down the line.

Might be a bad move on the WWE’s part, since the fans only really want see Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey in this match. Things change in the sports entertainment business all the time, so we will have to wait to see what comes to fruition in the end.
