‘-WWE promised to announce a number of new participants for the 2019 women’s version of the Royal Rumble. The announcements were made throughout Sunday via social media. WWE did have some competition, as the NFL Conference Championship games both took place Sunday as well.
Once the announcements were all made, the nine new additions are: Charlotte, Nia Jax, Nikki Cross, Becky Lynch, Tamina, Billie Kaye, Peyton Royce, Lana and Naomi. None of these names is incredibly surprising, as all were expected to be in the match already. Thus far, this brings the total number of known entrants to 21. This leaves nine slots open for surprises, whether from NXT or past Superstars making a cameo.
Some fans took to social media to react, either hoping WWE would have spoiled more entrants, or piping up to offer suggestions for one of the nine remaining slots.

Some fans, when learning of WWE’s plan to tweet out new entrants, had expected to learn all thirty names by the end of the social media blitz. However, when all was said and done and WWE tweeted out the last reveal, nine slots remained. WWE likely never planned to reveal every single entrant.
Fans love the surprise element of the Rumble. Part of that is finding out which Superstar enters at what number. Some of that is an expectation that there will be at least a handful of shocking debuts, returns or appearances. It’s bad enough that, thanks to the Mixed Match offering, we know who is supposed to enter at number thirty for both men and women’s matches in 2019.
Expect speculation to run wild between now and the Royal Rumble on Sunday.
