Brock Lesnar’s WrestleMania 35 Opponent, Jim Duggan Hospitalized

Brock Lesnar’s WrestleMania 35 Opponent

‘- After Brock Lesnar dropped the the Universal Championship to Roman Reigns at SummerSlam, there was a strong chance he would walk into WrestleMania 35 and probably again close the pay per view. When Reigns reveled his leukemia returned and the title would have to be vacated, WWE basically had to rewrite most of their major storylines.

The idea is for Lesnar to keep the title until at least WrestleMania 35, with Seth Rollins now being the front-runner to challenge “The Beast” according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. WWE will also bring up Reigns’ second battle leukemia to help further the storyline. Rollins has accomplished a great deal in his six years with WWE, but is yet to win the Royal Rumble. If Rollins wins the Rumble in January, it would be easy for WWE’s top face on RAW to get a match with Lesnar at WrestleMania.

Lesnar is set to defend the title at the Royal Rumble against Braun Strowman, but that could change as “The Monster Among Men” is undergoing elbow surgery and both of his knees are also shot. As for Rollins, he is set to defend the Intercontinental Championship at TLC against Dean Ambrose.

The only time Rollins and Lesnar have met one on one is at Battleground 2015. In a one-sided affair, Lesnar won via disqualification after Undertaker got involved.

– WWE Hall of Famer Jim Duggan spent Thanksgiving in the intensive care unit at a South Carolina hospital. His family posted a picture from the hospital bed and said they expect Duggan to be released later today. No reason was provided for why Duggan was in the hospital.
