Saudi Government Forced to Apologize for Advertisements Featuring Female Wrestlers!

The drama after the Greatest Royal Rumble continues. Banning female wrestlers from the match card was not enough, now the Saudi Government found themselves apologizing for the advertisements played during the Greatest Royal Rumble. While I am rolling my eyes right now, here is the story!

Public Apology

While the WWE did not put on any women’s matches (shame on you), they did show some advertisements featuring female wrestlers. The ads were played in the stadium, forcing an “apology” from the Saudi Government.

“The General Sport Authority would like to apologize to the viewers and attendees of the WWE event that took place in Jeddah, over the indecent scene involving women that appeared as an ad before a segment.”

“It would like to confirm its total disapproval of this, in the shadow of its commitment to eliminate anything that goes against the communities values. The authority has made sure to ban showing of any segment that involves women wrestling or any scenes related to it, and stipulated that to the company [WWE]. The authority also disapproved any promotional stuff with pictures or videos showing women in an indecent way, and emphasized on a commitment to this rule. And it’s a commitment that the authority would still commit to forever in all of its events and programs.”

Why Is This Such a Big Deal?

Honestly, if Saudi does not respect our culture, why invite the WWE in the first place?Female wrestlers have made strides over the past couple of years. They have fought hard for where they are today, only to be put thirty years back because of a government who does not allow women to perform. So, this is my statement to WWE management:

“I hope the ALLEGED 70 million dollars was worth showing your female children and grandchildren that money is more important than their role in this world”

That’s all I have to say about it. Hope your pockets are lined well.
