WrestleMania Predictions: Women’s Battle Royal

The Women’s Battle Royal will see WWE’s best female wrestlers battling it out for the win. Implementing the same rules as the Andre the Giant Battle Royal, the Women’s Battle Royal is set to make history! Who will win this epic wrestling clash? Let us see what the Ringside Intel team has to say.

Sandra’s Predictions:

As you can imagine, I am quite excited for the Women’s Battle Royal this year. Participants who have been announced for the historic match include Sasha Banks, Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan, Sarah Logan, Becky Lynch, Naomi, Natalya, Bayley, Lana, Mandy Rose, Sonya Deville, Mickie James, and Carmella. Of course, there are bound to be other women who will participate in this amazing match.

There are not any clear rumors stating who will win the match, but the WWE Universe has its own favorites. A name that comes forward more than others is Becky Lynch, who fans want to see win! I do not disagree, Becky has played in the background too long. It is time for her to take the limelight again. The Women’s Battle Royal could do just that.

Even though we all would like to see Becky Lynch take the win at the Women’s Battle Royal, Becky faces some serious competition from Sasha Banks, Bayley, and Absolution.

Another rumor I encountered was a possible entry for Sister Abigail. Yes, it would be quite good, considering Bray Wyatt has been “Deleted”. But who would be Sister Abigail in this epic battle? I like it and I hope the WWE does it.

I have problems putting my predictions down for this one, I must admit. Not all participants of the Battle Royal are known, and this could mean additional participants such as Asuka, Nia Jax, and Ronda Rousey. Even though they all have their own matches at WrestleMania, it does not eliminate them completely from the picture. If Asuka were to participate, I doubt they will break her undefeated streak. So, this changes my prediction completely.

Based on the participants announced for the Women’s Battle Royal, I have three favorites: Becky Lynch, Sonya Deville, and Mandy Rose. Each of them could do well after winning the Women’s Battle Royal and they are all more than deserving. Still, if I must pick one person, I go for Becky Lynch.

Lynch has been impressive over the past couple of months, even though she has been booked poorly. She has years of experience, not to mention her “Straight Fire” is infectious with the crowd, but she must get that opportunity. So, why not give Becky the boost she needs by giving her a win at the Women’s Battle Royal. I cannot think of any reason why not!

Katie’s Predictions:

I’m not nearly as excited for the first-ever Women’s WrestleMania Battle Royal as I was for the first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble, but it’s certain to be an exciting match nonetheless. It’s also near impossible to predict.

First, I’ll knock off two much-mentioned names who I don’t think will win: Bayley and Sasha Banks. This match will be used as a vehicle to further the Banks-Bayley feud, but I don’t expect either one of them to win. Either they’re going to eliminate each other early on, or they’re going to make it to the final women in the ring when someone else will take advantage of their preoccupation with one another.

With that out of the way, let’s move on to some women who I do think could win: Sonya Deville, Becky Lynch, and Ruby Riott. As much as I love Becky and want her to get another push, she seems the least likely to win out of this trio. If the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal is any indicator, battle royal wins are typically reserved for up-and-comers; and Becky is no up-and-comer, despite the fact that she could use the boost.

As for Riott, she was my initial pick – and then I remembered she just got a title shot at Fastlane. So that lowers her chances.

Which brings me to Sonya Deville. Her name wasn’t even on my radar – and then I remembered that Absolution tried to recruit Ronda Rousey two weeks ago on Raw. Presumably, WWE will want to move Rousey into competing with the women’s division after WrestleMania, and Deville seems like a good first opponent, especially given her background in MMA. So Deville is my pick.

Hunter’s Predictions:

Battle Royals like this are so hard to handicap. The story showed so far is Sasha vs. Bayley, so we’re meant to think they will be the two standing at the end. But what if they just eliminate each other early-on? As much as WWE wants us to believe these Mania Battle Royals matter, history tells us otherwise. The four winners of the Andre BR, save for maybe Baron Corbin, remained right where they were on the card. Since a new star won the first Women’s Royal Rumble, I am tempted to say a surprise veteran entrant wins. For me, the favorite is Nikki Bella. Winning would give Nikki press going into her (eventual) wedding to John Cena. But all eyes will be on the Hugger and the Boss. Look for their feud to continue into the summer after this.
