WWE Reduces India Tour Shows To One! Continued Struggles in India?

The WWE had big plans to conquer the Indian market, but it would soon become clear that their plans for India would not be as well-received as they thought. While the WWE claims their efforts in India have been successful, a recent development seems to indicate the promotion is not doing that well among Indian fans. Here’s the story!

House Show Cancelled

On the 14th of November 2017, the Times of India reported that the WWE decided to cancel one of the house shows. While many fans believe the house show was canceled because of suffering ticket sales, the WWE’s PR official put out a statement claiming something different:

“To meet the requests of WWE fans in India, and deliver the biggest main event in the country’s history, WWE is combining two nights of family-friendly action into a one-night only, exclusive Supershow.”

I swear, I think the WWE PR team thinks we have stupid written on our forehead. Really? You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure this one out. The WWE rarely listens to fan’s requests, and why would fans request one show instead of two? It makes no sense whatsoever! But well, that’s the official statement from the WWE.

Expensive Expansion Plans Hurting Home Crowd Attendance?

Once again, it is time to put my two cents in. Firstly, the WWE is so focused on expanding to different markets, they choose a lifelong jobber to become the WWE Champion. They don’t listen to the true wrestling fans either since Brock Lesnar is still the champion. What a mess!

Nobody can deny WWE productions have been suffering because of expensive marketing decisions; this does not only apply to expanding their promotion in India, but also the creation of the UK Title, which is rarely ever heard off. So, to compensate, we have to lose out on pyro and other things that make wrestling more exciting. To make things work, the company lost talent that could have made them lots of money; this includes the former King of the Cruiserweights Neville!

All I have to say is thank god for some of the talent remaining on the current roster. If not for the likes of AJ Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura, Asuka, Alexa Bliss, Kevin Owens, and other stars, the WWE would be dead in the water at this point. *Drops mic*
