Every true wrestling fan is anxiously awaiting the match between Shinsuke Nakamura and Jinder Mahal at Summerslam, especially after a devastating loss for Baron Corbin after a failed cash-in. However, one does have to wonder what will happen to the WWE if Shinsuke Nakamura loses against Jinder Mahal.
Could Shinsuke Nakamura Lose?
Even though we all see Shinsuke Nakamura as the true champion at the moment, there is still a chance he could lose. The reason is simple: the WWE wants to conquer the wrestling market and India, and still hope to do that with Jinder Mahal.
Jinder Mahal’s run in the WWE has been underwhelming where rivalries are concerned, but the WWE is putting a tremendous amount of money behind him, just think about the elaborate entrances over the past couple of weeks. Such elaborate entrances make me think the WWE is not ready to let go of Jinder Mahal as a champion.
Would a Loss of Shinsuke Nakamura Have an Impact on the WWE Fan Base?
I honestly have to say that it would. The WWE Universe has been pushed to the edge recently. Poorly booked matches, underwhelming pay-per-views, wrongly pushed superstars, and other problems are bothering many wrestling fans.
If Shinsuke Nakamura would lose during Summerslam, whether it is a dirty or a clean loss, I honestly see a lot of wrestling fans unsubscribing from the network. Personally, I think it is time to stop pushing people for “branding” and “merchandize” reasons, and push people who resonate with the entire WWE Universe, not just a part of the market.
Is Shinsuke Nakamura the Favorite to Win?
I probably speak for most fans when I say that Shinsuke Nakamura is the fan favorite, but this is by no means a guarantee that Shinsuke Nakamura will take the title. However, I am also quite certain that management is not as excited to see Nakamura with the title.
Shinsuke Nakamura got in hot water with WWE management after botching a move on John Cena. A faulty suplex saw John Cena land on his head, which reportedly infuriated the company’s big boss Vince McMahon.

Of course, a botch by Nakamura does not mean that the management does not recognize the money they could make them. The only thing that could stand in the way between Nakamura and the title is honestly the WWE’s intent to conquer the Indian wrestling market with Jinder Mahal. Unless the WWE has given up on that plan, it is still possible Nakamura takes a loss.
But how could the WWE get away with it? Well, they could by making Corbin interfere in retaliation for not cashing in successfully. I hope this will not be the case, and Nakamura can take a clean win from Jinder Mahal. Still, if Jinder does lose the title, I do believe he has an amazing heel future still.
