Lesnar Not Defending His Title Until New July PPV!

We all knew Brock Lesnar would not defend his title at Extreme Rules, a fact that has upset many wrestling fans. The WWE doesn’t seem to care much about it though because the announcement has been made Lesnar won’t defend the title until July!

Here are the details.

Great Balls of Fire PPV

The WWE created a new PPV called Great Balls of Fire. The announcement of Brock Lesnar’s first title defense came from the AACenter in Dallas, Texas, where GBOF will be held.

Do we have to wait until July? Seriously WWE? Fans are already p*ssed off that Lesnar is a paper champion! So, if you are trying to get more heat on him and Heyman, you have officially succeeded!

Bad Blood Pay-Per-View Not In the Cards

There were some rumors going around that the Bad Blood Pay-Per-View would be returning, until the announcement came that the Great Balls of Fire PPV would be replacing it.

The name change of the old Bad Blood pay-per-view – or the announcement of the new Great Balls of Fire PPV, whichever you want to see it as – certainly has many fans boiling.

Lesnar’s Opponent

Lesnar’s title defense is announced and his opponent will be Samoa Joe. Joe won the right to face off against Lesnar by winning the Fatal Fiveway at Extreme Rules. Does Joe even stand a chance? We hope!

No More Paper Champions

With the brand split, I was honestly hoping to be done with paper champions and part-timers. For a while, it was looking good, especially on SmackDown where new talent got a chance to shine. Just think about Alexa Bliss, who is now one of the hottest commodities in the WWE!

Unfortunately, the WWE is reverting back to its old ways and leaving a lot of deserving talent in the locker room (mainly in RAW). Paper champions are a thing of the past and they should stay there. If this continues, we will go back to the old WWE that was failing miserably!

What is your opinion on this announcement? Can you live with a paper champion such as Brock Lesnar, or do you want the title defended regularly? Let us – and the WWE – learn your thoughts. Wrestling is nothing without wrestling fans, so let us make clear once and for all what wrestling should be!
