After finding out about their long-standing severance packages being slashed in half, a new rumor claims WWE staff are disgusted with the management style of parent company TKO.
On Friday, an internal WWE memo made its way online that revealed some disheartening news for long-time WWE employees. That was the decision to do away with previous severance packages, which gave a month of severance pay for every year of service. Instead, packages will now be based on two weeks’ pay for every year. The change was made to align with TKO’s current severance structure.
It is just the latest major change made by WWE’s parent company after being formed following the merger of WWE and UFC. Well, the slashing of severance packages has understandably not gone over well in the promotion’s corporate headquarters.
According to Fightful Select, the reaction to the changes within WWE was one of disgust. Many of the employees of the employees that have been there less than five years are obviously frustrated. The speculation among employees was that this was TKO getting ahead of potential cuts.
Following the finalization of the merger, there was a large round of staff cuts as many redundant departments in both WWE and UFC were consolidated.
