So which tag team fits the bill? How about the Motor City Machine Guns. The team of Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley. The pair have worked just about everywhere over a long and storied career. Every place, that is, except one really big stage. The team never got a run with WWE, but according to several reports, that is fixing to change.

In recent months, when news of their free agent status emerged, many expected them to land in one of two places. Option one was AEW, with option two WWE-in no particular order. And according to Fightful, it will be WWE landing the two solid veterans. The report noted that third party sources indicated the pair had signed with WWE earlier in the week. Now, the claim of the Motor City Machine Guns to WWE has apparently also been confirmed by WWE sources.

Nice Signing Of Motor City Machine Guns

My biggest question, in all honesty? Knowing how WWE has, at times, sanitized names, would they make Sabin and Shelley change their legendary name? It’s a question we don’t yet have an answer for. If this were Vince running things, I would say absolutely. But it’s Triple H and Nick Khan, with RAW heading to Netflix and SmackDown now on USA. Plus, I feel like the duo may be so attached to the name, the topic would have come up in negotiations.

In any case, the WWE tag division has some reinforcements inbound (and let’s not forget the Lucha Bros!). And since it’s my time here-throwing this idea out there. MCMG are viewed as one of the better tag teams of their generation. They will join WWE which has a few really good ones too. One, The Usos, may be re-forming sooner than later.
