WWE Is Rumored To Have Interest In Signing Disgraced Former TNA/Impact Champion

A new WWE rumor making the rounds claims that the company is interested in signing a controversial wrestler who recently made their surprise return to TNA Wrestling.

Business is booming right now for WWE. They are breaking views, tickets, and merchandise sales records on a monthly basis. Vince McMahon’s departure from the company has played a massive role in their success as a fresh creative outlook has brought new life to the roster.

However, the roster itself has also been just as important. WWE is no longer relying on older stars or a handpicked few to hold up the product. Instead, the roster is much younger and deeper then it has ever been. They have also been willing to mend fences with wrestlers on the outs with the company to put forth the best product possible.

There is no better example of that than the 2023 return of CM Punk after 10 years of bitter feelings between the two sides. But even this past Saturday, WWE legend Jesse Ventura made is return for a special TV appearance after decades on bad terms with the promotion.

Well, WWE’s willingness to take roster risks could go even further and a new rumor claims they have an interest in eventually signing a disgraced former TNA/Impact champion.

WWE interested in eventually bringing in Tessa Blanchard

“If [Tessa Blanchard]’s in TNA for a while and there’s no big backlash or anything, they could bring her into WWE because there are women in WWE who want to work with her,” Dave Meltzer reported this week. “There may be some who don’t, but I know there are some who do. And she’s very controversial for all the reasons everybody knows.”

At one time, Tessa Blanchard was viewed as the best female wrestler on Earth. Her skills were so revered that she actually defeated Sami Callahan to win the TNA (then Impact Wrestling) world title in 2020. However, not long after the historic moment, a Forbes report revealed ugly accusations of racism and bullying from other women wrestlers in the company.

It led to her eventual release and several years of competing for small independent companies. And eventually in Mexico. Even AEW passed on bringing her due to the seriousness of the allegations. However, she has kept her nose clean since and made a shocking return to TNA this month at Final Destination.

Blanchard is only 29 years old and is the daughter of Four Horseman original Tully Blanchard.
