Finally, it seems like WWE has dramatically changed an unpopular rule where the wrestlers were unable to show blood.

Prior to 2008, WWE was known to push some extreme content. It saw some bloody battles, that sometimes went too far. Then, the company needed to follow what the networks requested. Therefore, the use of the blood in WWE matches was nixed. The red substance could be spotted in select backstage segments or if a wrestler was accidentally busted-open the hard way.

WWE shifted beyond the Attitude Era and Ruthless Aggression Era. Of course, the first era is considered by many to be the greatest time for pro wresting fans. In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer revealed how blading is back. A key factor in the change is Vince McMahon no longer having any say about WWE. Remember, the former boss was pushed to resign from the TKO Board after disturbing allegations were made by a former employee about sexual harassment, mental abuse and human trafficking. We will have to see if the government press charges.

Bad Blood Pay Per View Ushers In New Era

Earlier in the month, the Bad Blood pay per view returned. The date of the show marked the 27 year anniversary of the Hell In A Cell Match debuting. This year, CM Punk and Drew McIntyre ended their 11 month feud inside the structure. The bloody affair, which could easily be match of the year, saw both men bleed. Punk blading was planned, but McIntyre got cut the hard-way. Basically, McIntyre bled a ton after being nailed in the head with a metal toolbox.

Now, WWE just needs to be careful. In the past, the blood became too much. Before a Triple H match, there was a decent chance he would bleed within five minutes. Using blood sporadically is the way to go. Only go that direction when it is absolutely needed. So, are you happy WWE brought back blood or is it unnecessary?
