After reports claimed that WWE will take WrestleMania back to Las Vegas next year, rumors have emerged that the yearly spectacle could be in Sin City all the time.
Thursday delivered surprising WWE news. After making a grand announcement earlier this year that WrestleMania 42 would take place in New Orleans, reports emerged that it was no longer the case. Instead, the city would get Money in the Bank next year, as well as a future UFC and WrestleMania event. It created speculation on where Mania 42 would be.
Well, that news would arrive fairly quickly, and it was revealed for a second straight year, WrestleMania would be in Las Vegas. However, Wrestling Observer revealed that WrestleMania could be a constant in the city going forward.
The idea is that the city wants to have a major destination sports event every year. Such as the Super Bowl, the Final Four, the College Football National Championship, or WrestleMania. While it will not be every year, the report suggests Las Vegas will be the location frequently.
WWE is now under the control of TKO Group Holdings. The public name for the merger between WWE and UFC. However, there is certainly a heavy Las Vegas lean since much of TKO’s top management has UFC and Las Vegas links. Which has been the hub for the fight company for decades.
There are likely many financial benefits to holding huge WWE events in Las Vegas for TKO’s management team. And that is probably why this is the expected plan for Mania going forward.
