WrestleMania 35 seems so long ago. Although, it was only five years ago. One of the marquee matches was Triple H against Batista. In the end, Triple H defeated his former Evolution stablemate. Few knew, but Batista was done with pro wrestling at this moment. Since then, we have not seen him return to WWE TV as Hollywood frequently calls.
While speaking to Chris Van Vliet, Dave Batista discussed a possible WWE return. “The way I wanted to go out was like a dream for me,” said Batista. “It was perfect and romantic. Wrestlers don’t usually get to choose their exit, but I did. I went out on my own terms, with the opponent I wanted, and I will never tarnish that. I miss the crowd, the energy, and I dream about walking out and hearing my entrance music. But I know that if I were to do that, I would just tarnish my storybook ending, and I’m just not willing to do that. I just have to come to terms with the fact that my time has passed.”
Dave Batista No Longer Needs WWE
Overall, it was a great way for Batista to leave. Beforehand, his previous stints with WWE did not end well. He was upset with the booking and opted to leave. He only returned in 2019 to wrestle Triple H and retire. “The Animal” was supposed to enter the WWE Hall of Fame, before it was seemingly scratched. Basically, he wanted fans present and that resulted in a pause. Maybe, both sides can make something happen next year.
Batista was lucky to be paired with the likes of Randy Orton, Triple H and Ric Flair. With the past, present and future around, it helped him quickly enter the main event scene. And, he never left that position. So, does anyone want to see Dave Batista make a WWE return?
