A round of new rumors claims there could be big changes coming to the look and length of Smackdown for either the show’s debut on the USA Network tonight or in upcoming episodes.

There is a lot of notable shuffling that will be underway when it comes to WWE television in the final months of 2024. NXT will be moving from USA Network to the CW Network next month. Smackdown will leave FOX for the USA starting tonight. And WWE Raw will move over to streaming giant Netflix in January.

However, this week was unique because all three shows aired on USA Network over the last few days. Smackdown will bring what has been dubbed “WWE Week” to a close with its first episode of a new TV deal with the network. Raw had its “season premiere” last week but the product was what wrestling fans are used to. But that may not be the case for this week’s Smackdown.

Smackdown could get a new logo and theme song for its debut episode on USA Network

On Friday afternoon, popular X account Wrestle Votes revealed what they claim is a new logo for Smackdown that was leaked to them. The account claimed other sources confirmed its legitimacy and that “It’s unclear whether the logo will debut tonight or sometime in the fall/winter, amidst other changes coming to WWE TV.”

Fightful revealed that the blue brand will likely get a new theme song to match its new logo and look. Along with those rumors, Wrestling Observer reporter Dave Meltzer suggested that with the show no longer on a stricter network like FOX, overruns are likely a possibility.

Furthermore, there is now also a “path” to episodes of Smackdown being extended to three hours.
