Now, I say it might be a bit early, but is it? After all, WWE have been spending time in recent weeks hyping the first major PLE of 2025. Tickets are going on sale and for at least the last couple editions of RAW, I remember seeing spots hyping up the event from Indianapolis. This is the first of WWE’s “big four” PLE every year, and gets us on the Road to WrestleMania. With what we know about what might be planned for Las Vegas, many expect The Rock and Roman Reigns to face off. And that may be true, but plans change. So what about Reigns and the Royal Rumble?
One of thirty
As of now, signs point to Roman Reigns being in the Rumble for the first time in a couple years. For the last couple Rumbles, he kept busy defending his titles. But if you look at the Royal Rumble poster itself, Reigns is one of the focal Superstars. We know he has not worked a heavy PLE schedule in the past few years. His inclusion on the promotional artwork at least indicates he will be there. But consistently accurate source WrestleVotes, via their Patreon, tajes that a step further.
According to those that they’ve had conversations with, Roman Reigns is currently planned to be one of the thirty Superstars in the men’s Royal Rumble match. Of course, being in the Rumble does not mean he can’t work a singles match too. We’ve seen that before more than once. But him being planned for the Rumble likely points to Reigns not getting his hands on Cody Rhodes‘ title until WrestleMania, if at all.

Looking forward to next year’s WrestleMania, and considering Reigns likely in the Rumble, have the main event plans for Las Vegas changed? Or have they already been solidified, barring any injury or other issue? Will Roman earn a title match for one of the WrestleMania main events? Or will his cousin make a surprise appearance in or around Indy to prevent the Tribal Chief from getting a title shot, setting up their marquee matchup for Sin City? Or…could things go some other way entirely? All are possible, but I’d be willing to bet whatever happens, I have not guessed it yet. In any case, it is looking likely that Roman Reigns will be in next year’s Royal Rumble.
