The Rock made his monumental return to the WWE on the night of Monday Night RAW’s debut on Netflix on January 6. The Final Boss re-inserted himself into the mix. Moreover, the events that took place on the historic night revealed further details regarding his WrestleMania 41 match status.
The Final Boss opened RAW‘s debut show on Netflix, which took place at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles. The high-stakes bout saw Roman Reigns defeat Solo Sikoa to claim the title of The Tribal Chief.

After Reigns’ hard-fought win, The Rock entered the ring and presented him with the Ula-Fala. On the following night at NXT New Year’s Evil, he made another appearance. Witnessing The Final Boss’ comeback to WWE, a new report regarding his status for WrestleMania 41 has been revealed.
Will The Rock face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 41?
According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com, people internally within WWE have told him that The Rock’s match with Cody Rhodes is not happening. This was the original main event penciled in for WrestleMania 41. However, there is still a possibility that the dream match between The Rock and Roman Reigns could happen.
While The Rock has not committed to anything, the report stated that it can still happen. Moreover, Meltzer believed that it could take place at WrestleMania or another major show, which would be a huge payday for marquee WWE superstars. This could mean that it might happen at a big event in Saudi Arabia. Those events are known to pay these stars a huge amount of money.
Meltzer stated, “The idea of Rock vs. Reigns we have been told by several is not dead and they still could go to that in the future, perhaps Mania but the idea of somewhere else, particularly with the crazy money some places are paying fighters, that could also be an option. It’s up to him if he wants and has time to go through the training camp he feels is necessary to prepare himself at his age to do the match.”
The Rock and Roman Reigns were set to collide last year at WrestleMania. However, the fans siding with Cody Rhodes led to WWE changing their plans. With nothing set in stone, there is still hope that Rock and Reigns could be booked for a mega showdown at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas this year.
