It looks like wrestling fans should get used to seeing CM Punk competing in a WWE ring often in 2025.
“The Voice of the Voiceless” had a great first year back in the company despite an injury setback. His rivalry with Drew McIntyre was a marquee attraction for much of 2024. But more than his strong work on camera, it’s his much-improved backstage reputation that is the biggest takeaway from his return.
He left the company a decade ago on bad terms and was frustrated with the Vince McMahon regime. Then, despite his obvious joy for being back in the industry, he clashed often with his co-workers in AEW. Leading to his release in 2023. However, it seems like he has become a locker room leader in WWE, and he has been rewarded for it.
More in-ring dates added to CM Punk’s WWE contract
Fightful Select reported recently that CM Punk is considered to be closer to a full-time performer with WWE now. And at some point over the last year, there were major changes made to his contract. While changes to the money he makes were not revealed, they did mention that Punk could wrestle 15 to 30 matches over the life of the deal. Far more than what was originally expected when he returned two years ago.
This comes after he was seen wrestling at various house shows during the European tour. Including team-ups with Cody Rhodes to battle Solo Sikoa and Gunther.
For the first time in his career, CM Punk will headline WrestleMania this year. He is slated to battle Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins in the main event of WrestleMania 41 night one. As part of the favor owed to him by Paul Heyman, the Wiseman will be in his corner for the match.
This means that Heyman’s Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns, will walk into the match alone. With all eyes on this blockbuster main event, it remains to be seen if Punk will emerge victorious or not.
