Plans For CM Punk And Cody Rhodes At WrestleMania 41 Could Be Changing Due To Backstage Divide

A new report suggests plans for CM Punk and Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41 may be tweaked.

WWE is moving fast on the road to its biggest show this year, WrestleMania 41. And all eyes are on the potential main event showdowns. Over the years, WrestleMania has seen many triple-threat matches. Moreover, some of them have even been the main event of the show.

According to some recent reports, WWE is considering a match between three of the biggest stars today at WrestleMania 41. The match reportedly is said to be CM Punk vs. Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns. However, a new update suggests the company is reportedly favoring a different triple-threat match for WrestleMania 41.

According to Wrestlevotes via Backstage Pass, WWE is favoring seeing a showdown between CM Punk, John Cena, and Cody Rhodes. The match would be the main event for Rhodes’ Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 41. Some in the company allegedly prefer this match over the previously reported triple threat match.

Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer stated recently that John Cena has been slated to win the Elimination Chamber. This was set in stone back in October or November. It would allow him the chance to be the first 17-time world champion in the industry’s history.

However, adding CM Punk would finally get him to live out his ‘Mania main event dream. As well as adds some unique story elements due to his friendship and history with Rhodes and Cena, respectively.
